Boone Bybee was born in March 2021 with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and underwent his first surgery at three days old. He lived four years with half a heart, spent 83 days waiting for a heart transplant, including 68 days at Primary Children's Hospital and 14 days with a Berlin Heart. On November 24th, Boone received a heart, and his parents and supporters are deeply grateful to the donor's family for their generosity and courage. His recovery includes a 7-14 day hospital stay, a crucial first year at home as his body adapts, ongoing follow-up appointments, lifelong immunosuppressants, cardiac rehab, regular exercise, and monitoring for rejection. He is truly a heart warrior!
